First, Futira was founded by Dr. Hatim Zaghloul; a pioneer in the field of telecommunications, and his inventions were the cornerstone for the creation of most communications technology we use today. Technologies like 3G, 4G, 5G & WIFI would all have been unexistent if it weren’t for his contributions.

Currently, we released Futira through a smart contract hosted on BSC, 10 billion tokens were minted to help start the fundraising process, and as a result, currently, our towers are completed in the country of Chad, and our team is finalizing our legal status in Mauritania to start building the network.

Chad and Mauritania are just the first steps on our way, but Futira’s plan is much larger than those two countries, Futira plans to cover over 1 billion people with the Internet and mobile services. Countries like Niger in Africa, Malaysia, and Indonesia in Asia are other countries where Futira plans to operate. When Futira Mobile is up and running it’ll be one of the largest telecommunications networks on the planet.

And this brings us to the first and most important use case of the Futira token.

Futira is creating a mobile network in equatorial Africa, our token/coin will be used as the sole means of payment on the network, and that’s how we are sure $FUT will always be valuable.

But that’s not all, Futira plans to solve the remittance problem in Africa, most Africans abroad depend on informal banking systems to send money home. For those who are working in other African countries which are relatively close to home, they used busses and frequent travelers to send money, and when those options were restricted during the pandemic a real problem appeared in the continent. With workplaces getting shut down early (or sometimes entirely) a lot more people depended on the money coming from relatives working abroad, so when this money stopped as well, some were even able to find bread to eat according to a Reuters report. This gave a boost to the Hawala system with all its dangers in addition to a few e-money transfer companies that happened to be at the right place at the right time. But due to the limited number and scope of those companies, they never filled the gap in the market. A gap that could be easily filled with Blockchain technology, but convincing Africans to use cryptocurrency is not easy. Like any new technology, it needs time to penetrate and even more time to win the trust of millions of users.
Futira is different in that regard, learning from our competitor’s experience, people are more likely to trust their mobile network with money, and in countries where remittance services lacked (even nationally), mobile network credit has been used as a makeshift currency that can be easily sent between users.
So with Futira’s model and with using our token as a means of payment on the network services, it’s more likely that our users (especially after using our services for months and trusting us) would trust Futira tokens to be sent to their relatives abroad and be turned to cash. and considering the fact that Futira is available on both centralized and decentralized exchanges, exchanging Futira back for cash is an easy and straightforward process that could be done anywhere in the world.

Those are the two most prominent use cases for Futira now, but this doesn’t mean that in any case, the Futira team will stop expanding, experimenting, and finding new ways to help our users in particular and humanity in general. Our founder is credited with shaping the current technology of telecommunications. And Futira is determined to follow in his footsteps and help shape the technological future of Africa.
